Sunset Lightening Neighborhood1
A spectacular summer night in Conway, viewed from my driveway. We had an incredible lightening storm and sunset at the same time.

Larry Brannan
commented over 1 year agoKarla congratulations. Very well deserved. So let's see. you just walk out in your drive way and bang...a stunning, winning image. Like to see what you would come up with at some place like Yellowstone.
Karla Hall
commented over 1 year ago@Larry...It's crazy isn't it? I was not even home when it started and when I drove up in the driveway, my whole family was out watching it. Mike already had the camera out. I just started shooting and marveling. It was incredible. What you can't see to the left was a rainbow too! Had the lightning not been so pheonomenal, I would have been putting together a stitch of the whole scene. Yellowstone is on my bucket list...I would love to see what I could do there myself.
Thanks to everyone for the nice comments!
Verna Temme
commented over 1 year agoGenerally I dislike such effects to photos because I find they tend to hide a poor photo behind them (the idea is that the photographer, finding that the image can't stand on its own, dresses it up in this way to force an impact on the viewer). But here I think this is very well conceived and executed. This photo has such a hook, is clear in its impact and leaves the viewer feeling as one does when one is in such a situation. Nicely done!
Karla Hall
commented over 1 year ago@ Verna...Thank you, I think?? I don't understand what effects you may be referring to, but this image is 100% natural and is as recorded the night I shot it. It was pure and simple, a spectacular evening I was fortunate enough to be able to witness. Thanks for the comment. :o)
