Arkansas is full of beauty. Its architecture and landmarks are something to behold. Arkansas photographers know this well, and have captured Arkansas landmarks and architecture in a compelling way. Our editors set out to highlight a few of the best photographs featuring classic landmarks and unique architectural details, but they couldn't pick just a few. The result is our longest Showcase yet! Sit back, relax and enjoy the beauty in buildings and landmarks of Arkansas.

Paul is a magician with light. He's mastered the ability to capture the sun beaming from behind clouds and reflecting off buildings. He was a natural choice to feature as a part of this showcase because many of his photos are of the unique buildings all over Arkansas. Take a look at his profile and you'll find many stunning photos of buildings you've seen before, but from a unique perspective.

I think the artistry in this very successful photo comes from the cropping/composition of the frame and the perspective. You create action from something very static (houses) by manipulating their lines with your camera and viewpoint. This photo should be used to teach lessons on perspective and how to enliven a subject that can easily become heavy and dead. Congratulations! See comment

Hopper Church of Christ - October 2010
This old Church of Christ / Community Building in Hopper, Arkansas is over 100 years old. Services continue these days in a much more modern building next door - but the old church still stands and you can enter the ground-floor and look around (just be careful). Seen here in-between scattered showers on a late October afternoon, 2010. Hopper is on the edge of the Ouachita National Forest - Near Norman and a few miles west of Caddo Gap.

Pyramid Bldg reflection in Stephens Bldg glass
Careful taking pictures of the Stephen's Bldg. I was stopped by 2 security guards, then 2 minutes later 2 separate police officers (one in an unmarked car) a few minutes after taking this photo. They accused me of taking pictures of the trading floor. I showed this to them & it is obvious that you cannot see into the building. No real harm. They did not make me delete it, and only told me to schedule photos of the building with management. Riiight.
