    These unique little birds are great actors pretending to have a broken wing to lure preditators away from their nest and babies. This act however doesn't keep cows and horses from stepping on their eggs. To guard against large hooved animals the killdeer will puff itsself up with its tail over it's hear and charge toward the animal trying to make it change its path.

    The top side of the Black and Yellow Argiope or Black and Yellow Garden Spider Female. She will eat her web every night and build a new one. Most active in the daytime. Prefer to build their web in a sunny location with little or no wind.
