I am trying to learn how to use a circular polarizer, especially when shooting in bright sun or when shooting water shots. Do any of you out there use one, and if you do, are there any tips or experiences you would care to share?
The biggest tip is that polarizers work best when used with the sun at a 90 degree angle to you and your subject (at your side/shoulder/directly overhead). Other than that, you'll just have to play with it.
Here's an article that should help. https://photographylife.com/how-to-use-a-polarizer/
Thank you so much for your instructive and interesting reply, Chris. I pulled up the article you recommended and read it. It was very informative and I learned a lot from it. Now I have several techniques to try out the next time I am out shooting. Once again, thank you for your kind help!
