Does any butty know how well Extension tubes work for macro photography and where i can buy them.
Hi Ashton. I have used them in the past and they work fairly well with a prime lens. They will decrease the available light and with a full stack on with a 50mm f1.8 I lose 2 1/2 stops. You will have to set your aperture manually and use something to stabilize your camera. Even the slightest amount of camera shake is noticeable with tubes. I set my mirror up and use the 2 second timer or a remote shutter release. There are a few examples of images shot with them on my page I think. The Underside and The Wonder Of It All if you're interested. I hope this helps.
Thanks that helps i purchased some about a moth ago but i haven't used them a lot thank you for the tips!
