Frozen in Time

Ray Winder Field, originally Travelers Field till 1966, opened on 4/13/1932, at a cost of $100,000. The last game was played here on 9/3/2006. Ray Winder was involved with the Arkansas Travelers (originally the Little Rock Travelers) for 60 years. He sold tickets in 1915 and became part owner in 1944. The Traveler franchise moved to Shreveport in 1958, leaving Arkansas with no minor league team during 1959. They returned to Little Rock during the 1960 season.
