Dry Goods, Anyone? by Val Hightower in Architecture

Thisi s the J. C. Berry's Dry Goods Store on the southeast corner of the Yellville square. It was built in 1903 from local limestone and decorated with pressed metal trim. It housed the J. C. Berry Dry Goods until 1912. At that time, Mr. Berry's nephew Rex Floyd converted it for use as a hotel. The hotel operated until 1952. In 2003, the building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
