Bald Knob National Wildlife Refuge at Sunset
August is the month many shore birds will flock to this NWR now that the fields are being water fed. One of the locations I like to capture sunsets there.
Lake Bald Knob
3 sec exposure to mirror the water.
Posing along the roadside
Just off Old Hwy 25B near Tumbling Shoals as I was heading to the lake I spotted this little one along the roadside. A couple of shots it quickly moved back under the cover of the brush.
Fog rolling in the background from a recent rain shower. It was very humid such that I had to clean my lens from water after every shot. But the foliage from the overcast made the green leaves pop. Needless to say I had the creek to myself.
A foggy Sugar Loaf and Little Red.
After the rain stopped yesterday afternoon I headed out to scout sunset locations in and around the Heber Springs/Greers Ferry area. I stopped at the Barnett Access off Hwy 110 as the sun was making an appearance. Sugar Loaf is in the foggy distance. 25s long exposure.
Sunset on Lake Bald Knob
Living fairly close to this lake I should visit more often than I do.
Lake Pickthorne Sunset- Long Exposure
One of my favorite places to capture sunsets.
Male Pipevine Swallowtall
From my back deck.
Sunrise on Miller farm
Located near Pleasant Plains the barn on the Miller farm has been in the family since 1910.
White County Courthouse
The present White County Courthouse, completed in 1871 and remodeled in 1912, is the oldest Arkansas courthouse still being used for its original purpose. The large clock tower includes an 1855 bell which resembles the Liberty Bell.
I love photography. Now that I am retired I can spend more time behind the lens. Being a technically inclined person (retired engineer) photography offers me a chance to express myself artistically I otherwise could not. I am not drawn to any one area of photography as my Flickr page shows. I like it all. :) I have been shooting for a very long time and even at my age I am still learning and hopefully improving.
